Late 1920s Mahogany Mantle
An imposing, angular design with geometric banding to the
top.
The
upper tier has two flat panels around a central
concave panel in fiddle back veneer. They are topped
with interlocking applied beading rising to a central
chamfered pinnacle.
The bottom section in straight
grained mahogany has chamfered sides which sweeps
down onto solid block feet. The feet have been cut to accomodate a 48
inch wide hearth at a thickness of 2 inches.
The fireplace opening has
substantial moulding running around it.
