1930s Mahogany Art Deco Fireplace Mantel
A tall mahogany mantel dated February 17th 1931
which was removed from a 1930s
semi on Yew Tree
Lane in Manchester. It has a large central bevelled
mirror with
a shaped top. The sides of the mantel
are concave finely figured veneer panels
mounted
on a deep wide serpentine shelf that spans the frieze.
The frieze has
fine diamond moulding across the top under
the
shelf and bullnose moulding to the bottom.
Both the plain legs on moulded
block feet have
vertical grain in the rich warm mahogany.
