Late 1920s Mahogany Mantel

An imposing and unusual 1920s angular mahogany
mantel from a house in Heald Green, Stockport.

The upper tier has two flat panels around a central
concave panel in fiddle back veneer. They are topped
with interlocking applied beading rising to a central
chamfered pinnacle. The bottom section in straight
grained mahogany has chamfered sides which sweeps
down onto solid block feet. The fireplace opening has
substantial moulding running around it.
