Edwardian Fireplace Mantel in Walnut

A George III style walnut chimneypiece c1903
featuring a book matched burr walnut frieze veneer
panel with fine moulding flanked by Grecian key
pattern terminals. The inside moulding is finely fluted
with roundels in the corners ending in delicate
block feet. The outside rope twist decoration is
carved from solid as is the reoccurring greek key
pattern beneath the imposing Fireplace Mantel shelf. This
fine quality piece needs to be seen and would
complement a cast iron insert.
