Edwardian Slate Fireplace Mantel
An original Edwardian slate Fireplace Mantel of
generous proportion c1900. The elongated
fluted corbels have etched and gilded
decoration ending in an architectrual
terminal with glazed rerracotta spheres.
The main leg area has a geometric
gilded
panel above nicely moulded feet blocks.
The frieze has an elongated
panel of the
same design which runs full length.
The Fireplace Mantel shelf has a fine
torus moulding.
This
Fireplace Mantel is shown with a reproduction
insert but would suit any cast insert.
