1920s Oak Mantel in Arts and Crafts Style

An Arts and Crafts influenced mantel design, well crafted in oak.
The whole surround is finished with a curved and beaded top.

The recessed overmantel section has three small curved pillasters with hand carved leaf details . The top of the fireplace opening is plain with a triple reeded edged shelf supported on a single curved bracket over it.

The chamfered jambs run from the wrap round block feet right to the top of this mantel, ending with chamfered top blocks.

Arts & Crafts Mahogany Edwardian Mantel

A Superb Edwardian mantel with inlaid panels and ebony stringing in a golden brown mahogany colour.

This imposing mantel has a wealth of craftsmanship and detail, from the finely moulded pillasters to the inlaid, moulded framework of the opening, from the subtle shape of the matched central supporting brackets to the quartered inlay of the two outer panels.

The main central panel features an oval 'eye' of inlaid mahogany with ebony stringing reflected in the curve of the central shelf beneath.

The whole piece is topped off with an ample and deeply moulded shelf.

1920s Oak Mantel

A striking Arts and Crafts style mantel made in the 1920s with a wealth of decorative features including hand carved vine details to the top of the frieze.

The central frieze panel is recessed at an angle to a decorative centrepiece, the angle being reflected in the protruding central shelf below.

The whole piece is edged in cock beading down to the narrow feet with an inset small shelf.

Arts and Crafts Mahogany Mantel

An Arts and Crafts mantel c.1910 in Mahogany originally from a large house near Ripon racecourse in North Yorkshire. It was made by Garnett of Warrington, a firm of well regarded cabinet makers that is a striking example of their design and manufacturing skills.

Where ever you look on this mantel you'll see a combination of subtle details and precision craftsmanship. The long tapering legs provide the basic framework surmounted by a band of hand carved, interlacing curves above which is a cornice with fine dentil moulding. The recessed frieze section is realised as a colonnade with three arched panels to the back with two tapering round columns to the front and tapered relief columns to the sides.

apple and pearwoods. The beveled mirror is

end in nicely moulded block feet. The wide
