The Stanshall Fireplace insert

An Edwardian fireplace design with a recessed opening and large hobs.

The Stanshall design started as a reconstruction of an original Edwardian fireplace using an existing copper canopy.

The design is suitable for various
styles of fire frames from ornate copper as shown here, to plain matt black trims or even as all tiled version.

The use of 6" x 2" hand dipped tiles throughout to build a recessed opening and 6" square tiled hobs is unique to 20th Century Fires Ltd.

The price includes a fret of your choice.

To burn solid fuel a stool grate is also required

20th Century Fires reserves the right to make minor design changes to the reproduction inserts or Fireplace Mantels shown on this site.

Our tiles are reproduced using similar methods to the original items and the degree of shade variation is inherent and desirable. Tiles are manufactured to bs6431 and are not guaranteed against crazing. Whilest most tiles do not normally craze, the thickness of glaze necessary to reproduce the very shiny Victorian colours may occasionally cause this to occur. It does not affect the serviceability and actually achieves a truer degree of reproduction effect.
