Cubist influenced tiled arched fireplace insertA modernist version of the classic Clarence Arch design given a homely feel by the textures of the three different mottled glazes used on this insert The mid-brown / orange base glaze of the background and arch tiles has a touch of darker crackle glaze giving an appearance like light tanned leather. The light and dark tiles laid in various patterns have the appearance of patinated bronze and a speckled golden granite. The recessed frieze is split into 3 sections by 2 vertical bars of bronze REO (round edge opposite) tiles. To either side of the bars the pattern is a simple square of bronze framed with gold finger tiles all round while in the centre the finger tiles of both colours interlock to form a grid pattern with the gold tiles predominant. The grid pattern is repeated in a band across the insert with the pattern having been turned through right angles and the colours reversed so the bronze is the major colour. Sizes Overall depth 9
inches Condition: VERY GOOD
