An ornate cast iron "canopy on legs" complete with its original cast iron fireback and inset curved clay fireback.

The opening is framed with a dot and dash repeating pattern and the fixed hood is embellished with stylised acanthus leaves.

An Edwardian arched fireplace c1910
in mottled in pale blue, pink and cream
4" tiles. The pastel shades are unusual
for a fireplace of this period

This fireplace insert would suit an original
oak mantel or one of our bespoke fire
surrounds such as "the Ellis" and would
require a complementing hearth.

The fireplace would come complete with
a fret of your choice and could be used
for solid fuel or gas.

An arched fireplace insert c1907 in lovely pale thistle coloured crossbonded tiles. The tiles a re slightly mottled and the colouring varies across the tiles The large opening tiles follow the edge of fireplace opening and continue down with bullnose tiles.

Edwardian Fireplace Insert

Tiled Fireplace Insertc1910 made from
large faience blocks glazed in mottled
brown and creams.It was removed from
an Edwardian house in North Wales.


It is an obvious precursor of the Art Deco
Fireplace styling that became fashionable
after the first world war. It has a large
chevron style keystone and 6"x1" dark
brown fingers around the opening blocks
and frieze. Around 36 of the original flush
hearth tiles have been recovered and can
be incorporated into a hearth

with hand coloured detail. They have Ivory
background and apple green borders.

They would have probably have been fitted
with a Slate Fireplace Mantel or possibly a Marble or
Cast Iron Fireplace Mantel.
