Late 1950s Fireplace

A late 1950s "contemporary" design fireplace. The main body is made from pale grey tiles with an extraordinary rippled texture manufactured by "Wood of England". The fire place opening is flanked by angular side recesses containing mosaic panels. Unusually it has a fully extending top shelf made of 6" square speckled steel grey tiles on the top and underneath. It has a stainless trim and the heat plate in the hearth is framed in 6" steel grey tiles. The main bulk of the hearth is 6"x2" textured tiles.

Post War Tiled Fireplace

An All Tiled Fireplace with a fan
shaped moulded top to the recessed
shelf. It has unusual niches on either
side, moulded mottled green and
brown opening tiles, a stepped brick
effect around the opening and large
faience blocks at the bottom. It
comes with it's original raised
kerbed push-to hearth.
