1920s Fireplace
A very rare design of fireplace originating from Wilmslow in Cheshire and dating to the late 1920's.
The back panel is made in one piece with a semicircular overmantel panel decorated with two diamond tiles above the pi shaped fireplace opening.
The hearth is also a semicircle echoing the overmantel shape.
The semicircles are framed in an orange/brown mottled moulding as is the greek letter pi of the fire opening and shelf. The infill tiles are contrasting beige/brown mottle.
The pad in the hearth has been replaced at some date due to wear and tear with a granite brown tile.
