Victorian Cast Iron Fireplace
A large and very ornate cast iron Victorian Fireplace
c1890 with very crisp detailed casting. The fireplace
frieze
features a lyre flanked by
cornucopia over a
continous rope twist border. There
are urns at the
top of the legs which are fluted, twisted,
beaded and
garlanded pillars
. There is a shallow
canopy with
more decoration. It has a 16" grate and
is
large enough
to take a gas fire. It comes with its
original fireback
but
has replacement bars and cover.
It would suit
a quarry tile hearth.
