1950s Contemporary Style Fireplace
A grey mottled tiled Fireplace manufactured
in 1957 and originally installed in
a house
in the Lake District. It was removed a year
later and has remained crated
in storage
since then. The Fireplace style is known as
"contemporary" and
this is a fabulous example.
It has an ebonised mahogany mantle with
gold detailing
surrounding a tiled interior and
hearth. It features built in wrought ironwork
around
the Fireplace opening, floral detail at
the tile intersections and lustre glazed
stripe
details at the curved sides. It could be
installed with a Baxi Burnall,
another solid
fuel appliance or a
living flame gas fire
